When music is playing, I can’t turn the volume up or down. If you try to turn it up, it doesn’t budge – and the same goes for turning it down.
Any ideas on what I can do or what is wrong?
I sprayed WD-40 on mine fixed it . still working fine. just pull straight off the volume control knob spray for a second and don’t turn on radio for a day. all should be good, or if it has steering wheel control it may be needing a echatspin echatrandom cleaning also.
Apple carplay is always gonna have a bit buggy things- it’s an issue with Apple, not with your car. On my 2017 sport it happened almost every time I plugged it in with an iPhone 7 plus and fixed it by restarting the head unit(holding the power button down till it restarts) of by switching to satellite radio and going back to carplay. On my 16 Autobahn, I haven’t had the issue once with an iPhone 8 plus. My 16 jetta gets it like once every month it feels like.
If it’s never worked and is an aftermarket radio it’s because these don’t tend to have the port at the back to accept the wiring for control from the wheel. You can buy an adapter but they’re a bit expensive sometimes.
If it’s a MK2 or 3 the wheel controls feed into the back of your radio via a distinct connector. It’s unlikely but this could have become loose at this point or a wire could have become loose/damaged, which would be an easy fix just pulling the radio out with radio removal tool (these cost almost nothing) and reseating the connector omegle.2yu.co, or inspecting it for a break in the wire behind the radio.
